I'm a construction manager - regular guy with a Business Degree, a Construction Management Degree, and recently, a Masters Degree in Construction Management. I grew up in southeastern Virginia and was rasied by honest, hard working blue-collar parents and grandparents. I was taught to work hard and to protect your family name and reputation. Part of my "WHY" here is to give back to some of the kindness I have received.
I'm a travelling commercial construction superintendent and over the years, I have worked very hard to be able to run multi-million dollar construction projects. I'm not going to tell you to "Quit" your job. I'm not quitting mine.
This is about information about finance and retirement, stocks, investments, and "money stuff". A lot of this was never really talked about around my family. While learning about my own personal finance, I've realized there is alot of information out here and it can be hard to understand.
I'm just a guy who doesn't have enough saved for retirement. I want to share what I've learned about finance, money, stocks, investments, and retirement over the years.
Finances do not have to be scary and overwhelming. Maybe some of you are in a similar situation and do not have enough saved for retirement. Let's learn together as you travel on the path of managing your finances.

A few years ago, I realized that I do not have enough money saved / invested for retirement. I started reading and learning about finance, savings, investing and retirement strategies to put myself in a better place. What We Didn't Learn About Money
Most of us didn't learn much about money from high school, college, or even family or friends. So where do we learn it? This page and blog is a deliberate effort to give clear conscise ideas, explanations, and tools to be able to understand money, stocks, investments, mortgages, and retirement options.
Finances Don't Have To Be Scary
A few years ago, I realized that I do not have enough saved for retirement. I just started too late. I never really learned much about money management, savings, stocks, or the different investment options. I thought you had to have a finance degree or pay big bucks for a financial advisor or C.P.A. Could you even trust those guys or afford them?
Fast forward, I read everything I can find about business, credit, stocks, investments, mortgages, and retirement strategies. I never knew it could be so interesting. I have spent time learning about the finance and business world that will help me catch up on my savings and retirement strategy. Surprisingly, I feel more comfortable about money, credit, mortgages, stocks, investment strategies, and even retirement. The point of this website and blog is to be able to share the information and tools that I use and have learned. Maybe some of you are in the same situation and can use some straight talk about finances. Eitherway, I'm glad you're here. Let's figure this stuff out together without having to get a finance degree.
